As a brewer entering your beers for judging in a beer competition you want to have the confidence that those people judging your beers are of the level of skill to pass judgement on your beers.
BrewNZ each year makes efforts to gather the most skilled and diverse group of judges. A mix of international judges and brewers, and local beer experts and brewers.
By having around half our judges from overseas we achieve an independent perspective, balanced with a wealth international knowledge of the global beer industry. This is mixed with local judges that have experience and an appreciation for the local styles, and ingredients used to create beers that are uniquely New Zealand.
In 2007 we saw the return of David Logsdon as Chief Judge for the 6th year in a row. Dave brings 30 years of brewing and beer judging experience to our judging panel.
